Personal and Business
The account type determines how your workspace in Pulse is organized: whether you work alone with a single site (Personal) or manage a team with multiple sites, members with different roles, and a shared organization (Business).
Differences Between Personal and Business v1.0.0-alpha4
| Personal | Business | |
|---|---|---|
| Sites | One | Unlimited |
| Users | Owner only | Owner and invited members |
| Roles and site access | — | Owner, Administrator, Operations Manager, Technician, Viewer / Customer |
| Organization block in menu | Not shown | Sites, Firmware suites, Members, Organization settings |
| Organization name and description | — | Configured in Organization settings |
| Plan switching | Upgrade to Business anytime without data loss | Downgrade to Personal — with deletion of extra sites and members |
Some Business features will become paid in the future. Currently, both account types are free.
Which Type to Choose
- Personal — private miners or small operations where one person manages Pulse. The interface stays minimal: no site switcher list, no members, and no "organization" terminology.
- Business — companies, mining hotels, or farms with multiple sites and shift personnel. The owner invites team members, assigns roles, and restricts access to specific sites. Learn more in the "Organization Overview" section.
You can start with Personal and upgrade to Business when you build a team or add a second site.
Choosing a Type on First Sign-in
The type is chosen explicitly — an organization is not created automatically. If a user has no personal space and has no access to any other organization, the Personal / Business selection dialog appears upon sign-in. Until the choice is made, working in Pulse is blocked — only Sign out is available.
The dialog appears:
- immediately after registration;
- for a member who was removed from their last organization, if they have no personal space.
The dialog describes both options and notes that some Business features will become paid in the future.
Personal is created immediately without additional fields.
Business requires filling in organization details:
- Name — required, 3–42 characters. Pre-filled automatically based on the user's email: the part before "@", title-cased with " Org" suffix. For example, for
[email protected]it suggests "Petrov Org". The name can be edited immediately. - Description — optional, up to 100 characters.
If You Are a Member of Another Organization
A user who accepts an invitation works directly inside the inviter's organization — the initial selection dialog is not shown. They can create their own space later when needed: on the Plan card (Account → General), there will be a note "You don't have your own space yet" and a Create your own space button. This opens the same Personal / Business selection dialog.
Upgrading to Business
- Go to Account → General and find the Plan card.
- Click Upgrade to Business.
- Review what Business provides in the dialog and confirm the upgrade.
Immediately after upgrading, without re-logging:
- the Organization section appears in the navigation menu;
- the single-site limit is removed;
- member invitations and role management become available.
The account, site, agents, devices, automation rules, and all history remain unchanged. No payment is required. After the upgrade, Pulse suggests filling in the organization name and description in Organization settings — these will be displayed to members in invitation emails.
Downgrading to Personal
Downgrading is used when you no longer need team features and wish to operate alone with a single site. You can downgrade at any time — including if your account was automatically upgraded to Business during the release. This action is irreversible: deleted sites and members cannot be restored. Available only to the Owner.
- On the Plan card, click Switch to Personal.
- Select the site to retain. If there are multiple sites, they are displayed in a list: the selected one is marked Keep, the others Delete. If there is only one site, it is retained automatically.
- Review the Will be permanently deleted block — how many sites, members, and pending invitations will be deleted.
- Check the confirmation checkbox: I understand this is permanent and my team will lose access.
- Click Delete and switch. The button becomes active after 30 seconds — giving time to double-check everything.
What is permanently deleted:
| Item | What happens |
|---|---|
| Sites, except the selected one | Deleted along with agents, scan tasks, devices, and history |
| Members, except the owner | Removed from the organization and notified via email. Their user accounts remain intact |
| Pending invitations | Revoked, invitation links in emails cease to work |
If you upgrade back to Business later, the organization is created from scratch: the previous name, members, and deleted sites are not restored.
Accounts Created Before v1.0.0-alpha4
During the update, types were assigned automatically with no user action required:
- accounts with a single site became Personal;
- accounts with multiple sites became Business. The organization name was auto-generated from email — update it to your company name in Organization settings.
Sites, agents, devices, and operational history were fully preserved.
Notes
- A Personal account also has an underlying organization structure, but it is hidden: the word "Organization" does not appear in the interface or notifications.
- Firmware suites remain accessible in Personal accounts as well, even though the Organization section is hidden from the menu.
Delete Account
Account deletion is an irreversible operation that completely removes all your data from HashCore Pulse. `v0.1.0` This operation complies with GDPR requirements (Article 17 – right to erasure).
Organization: Overview
Starting with `v1.0.0-alpha4`, Pulse is a multi-user system. The owner of a Business account organizes sites under an organization, invites the team, and configures permissions and accessible sites for each member.
