Power

Power (W) is an electrical power indicator reflecting the current energy consumption of a mining device during operation.

The value is measured in watts (W) and indicates the amount of electrical energy consumed by the device per unit of time.

Practical Significance:

The Power indicator is used for:

  • calculating electricity costs;
  • planning electrical infrastructure (lines, circuit breakers, PDUs);
  • assessing equipment heat dissipation;
  • monitoring the stability and safety of the miner's operation.

Impact on Operation:

Increased Power value:

  • increases electricity costs;
  • increases thermal load;
  • requires more efficient cooling;
  • can lead to electrical grid overload if not properly designed.

Reduced Power (while maintaining Hashrate):

  • increases overall energy efficiency;
  • reduces operating costs;
  • improves long-term equipment stability.

Typical Ranges (ASIC miners):

  • 2000–3000 W — reduced power consumption
  • 3000–3500 W — standard operating range
  • > 3500 W — high consumption level

Relationship with other parameters:

  • Power directly depends on Efficiency (J/TH) and Hashrate.
  • Changes in frequency, voltage, or cooling mode affect Power.
