Update
You can update the firmware on Antminer L7/L9, S19, and S21 series devices in two ways:
1. Via the Device Web Interface (OTA Update)
Used for quickly updating a single miner.
- Open the web interface and click the "Firmware Update" button in the left sidebar menu.
- If necessary, activate the
"Save current miner configuration"toggle to preserve current Pool, Overclocking, and network settings after the update. - Drag the firmware file (
.tar.gz) into the upload area or click on it to select the file from your computer. - Click the now active
"Flash miner"button and wait for the process to complete and the device to restart.
Attention! It is strictly forbidden to power off the device or disconnect the network cable during firmware updates. This may lead to bootloader corruption.
For more details on update window parameters, see Firmware Update Center.
2. Via HashCore Toolkit (Batch Update)
Used for simultaneously updating multiple devices or an entire farm:
- Launch HashCore Toolkit and select a group of miners.
- In the bottom panel, select "All Operations → Firmware Installation".
- Specify the directory containing the downloaded firmware package and confirm to start the batch update.
Installation
VNISH firmware is installed via HashCore Toolkit, a tool for remote batch installation on Antminer S19, S21, L7, and L9 series control boards with Xilinx, AMLogic, BeagleBone Black, and CVitek controllers. The possibility of direct installation depends on the build date of the stock Bitmain firmware on your device.
Restoring Stock Firmware
There are two main ways to remove custom firmware and return the miner to Bitmain's factory software:
