Restoring Stock Firmware

There are two main ways to remove custom firmware and return the miner to Bitmain's factory software:

1. Via the Miner's Web Interface (the "Restore Stock" button)

The fastest way to programmatically revert to stock Firmware:

  1. Open the miner's web interface and navigate to the "System" section.
  2. Go to the "General" tab (subsection "Maintenance / Reset Settings").
  3. Find the "Restore Stock" button (Restore Stock Firmware).
  4. Confirm the operation in the dialog box. The miner will automatically clear the NAND memory partitions and reboot into the Bitmain stock Firmware.

For more details on system settings, see the System section.

2. Via HashCore Toolkit

For mass resetting a fleet of devices or if the web interface is inaccessible:

  1. Launch HashCore Toolkit on the same local network as the miners.
  2. Select one or more devices.
  3. In the operations menu, select "Restore Firmware to Factory Settings" (Restore Factory / Bitmain Stock).
  4. Wait for the process to complete and the devices to restart.

Note: When correctly reverting to factory software using the standard mechanisms, the Firmware leaves no traces in the internal memory, which allows restoring the device's factory status if necessary.
