Two-factor authentication

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of protection to your account. In addition to your password, you will need to enter a one-time code from an authenticator app when logging in.

How 2FA works

2FA in HashCore Pulse is based on the TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) standard. A code is generated every 30 seconds based on a shared secret between the server and your device.

Supported apps

  • Authy (recommended)
  • Google Authenticator
  • Microsoft Authenticator
  • Any app that supports TOTP (RFC 6238)

Enabling 2FA

  1. Go to SettingsSecurity
  2. In the Two-Factor Authentication section, click Enable
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app
  4. Enter the code from the app
  5. Click Confirm
  6. Save the backup codes in a secure place

Backup codes are the only way to log into your account if you lose access to the authenticator. Save them in a secure place.

Disabling 2FA

  1. Go to SettingsSecurity
  2. In the Two-Factor Authentication section, click Disable
  3. Enter the code from the authenticator
  4. Confirm the disabling

Do not disable 2FA unless necessary. It reduces the security of your account.

Losing access to the authenticator

If you have lost access to your authenticator app:

  1. Use one of the backup codes (one-time use)
  2. If backup codes are not available — contact support
