Two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of protection to your account. In addition to your password, you will need to enter a one-time code from an authenticator app when logging in.
How 2FA works
2FA in HashCore Pulse is based on the TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) standard. A code is generated every 30 seconds based on a shared secret between the server and your device.
Supported apps
- Authy (recommended)
- Google Authenticator
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Any app that supports TOTP (RFC 6238)
Enabling 2FA
- Go to Settings → Security
- In the Two-Factor Authentication section, click Enable
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app
- Enter the code from the app
- Click Confirm
- Save the backup codes in a secure place
Backup codes are the only way to log into your account if you lose access to the authenticator. Save them in a secure place.
Disabling 2FA
- Go to Settings → Security
- In the Two-Factor Authentication section, click Disable
- Enter the code from the authenticator
- Confirm the disabling
Do not disable 2FA unless necessary. It reduces the security of your account.
Losing access to the authenticator
If you have lost access to your authenticator app:
- Use one of the backup codes (one-time use)
- If backup codes are not available — contact support
