Deleting a site
What happens when a site is deleted
When you delete a site:
- All agents on the site are disconnected and deleted
- All scan tasks are deleted
- All workers tied to the site are removed from the system
- All metric history for the site is deleted
- Activity Center data related to the site is deleted
A deleted site and its data cannot be restored. If you need to temporarily disable a site, pause all agents instead of deleting it.
How to delete a site
Pulse uses a multi-step confirmation to prevent accidental deletion:
- Go to Sites
- Click ⋯ next to the site → Delete
- A confirmation dialog will open — it shows a list of everything that will be deleted
- Type the exact site name in the confirmation field
- Press and hold the countdown button until it completes
The site will only be deleted after all steps are completed.
Alternatives to deletion
If a site is temporarily unused or under maintenance, instead of deletion we recommend:
- Pause all agents — devices will go Offline, data collection will stop, but the configuration is preserved
- Disable all Scan Tasks — scanning will stop, but agents will remain connected
Operation packets
Operation packets (Operation Throttling) is a mechanism that controls the rate of sending batch commands to devices. Instead of sending a command to all devices at once, Pulse splits the operation into packets and inserts a pause between them.
Firmware sets
Firmware Sets are containers that store firmware files grouped by device manufacturer, model, and platform. Sets are used when installing firmware on devices through the Activity Center.
