Installing firmware
Installing firmware is the process of replacing the current device firmware with a version from a firmware set. The operation is performed through the Activity Center and tracked in real time.
Before installation
Make sure all conditions are met:
- A firmware set has been created and contains a file for the required model and platform
- The device is in Online status
- The agent is running in Full Control mode
Installing on a single device
- Go to Workers
- Click ⋯ next to the device
- Select Install Firmware
- Select a firmware set
- Confirm the installation
- The operation will appear in the Activity Center
Installing on a group of devices
- Activate selection mode (checkbox in the table header)
- Select the desired devices
- Click Install Firmware in the batch actions bar
- Select a firmware set
- Confirm the installation
Installation progress
Installation progress is tracked in the Activity Center. For each operation, the following is displayed:
- Overall operation progress
- Status of each device
- Errors, if any occurred
Notes and limitations
- Firmware installation takes 3 to 7 minutes per device
- Devices in Offline status cannot be flashed
- For large groups of devices, operation packets are recommended
- The device reboots during installation
Firmware sets
Firmware Sets are containers that store firmware files grouped by device manufacturer, model, and platform. Sets are used when installing firmware on devices through the Activity Center.
Overview
Activity Center is a centralized log of all operations performed in HashCore Pulse. It displays the progress of current operations, results of completed ones, and alerts requiring operator attention.
